Using Calling Features
ACS offers Calling Features to enhance your telephone service. These features
add convenience and expand services at reasonable prices. Please note
that some features are not available in certain markets. For more information or
help with use of your calling features, please contact ACS Customer Service. These instructions are also available in your ACS White Pages phone directory.
Anonymous Call Rejection
Anonymous Call Rejection - Allows you to reject incoming calls from callers who have blocked Caller ID information.
How to Use:
1. To activate (reject blocked calls) press *77.
2. To deactivate (receive blocked calls) press *87.
Call Forwarding
Call Forwarding - Forward your call to where you're going to be.
How to Use:
1. Press *72,listen for dial tone.
2. Dial the number that will be accepting your calls. Call Forwarding in now in
effect when the party answers.
3. If the line is busy or no answer, hang up and repeat the first two steps. No
answer is required to establish Call Forwarding on the second attempt.
To cancel Call Forwarding:
1. Press *73. Upon cancellation, you will hear two beeps.
Call Waiting
Call Waiting - Lets you know when you have another incoming call while
you are on the phone. A beep tone alerts you that another call is waiting.
How to Use:
1. To answer second call without losing first call, press switchhook* quickly to
place first call on hold, you are now connected to your second call.
2. To return to your first call, press switchhook quickly to disconnect or place
second call on hold.
3. When one caller hangs up, press the switchhook and the other caller comes on
the line.
Cancel Call Waiting
Cancel Call Waiting - Turns off Call Waiting when you're on an
important call.
How to Use:
1. Press *70 and listen for special dial tone.
2. Dial the number of the person to whom you wish to talk without the Call
Waiting feature in effect.
3. For the duration of this call, Call Waiting feature is disabled.
4. Call Waiting is back on once you hang up.
Continuous Redial
Continuous Redial - Save time redialing busy numbers. Your phone rings to
alert you when busy line is free and automatically connects you. Monitor up to
12 busy lines at once.
How to Use:
1. Upon hearing a busy signal, press the switchhook and release quickly to hear
special dial tone. (If you've already hung up, pick up handset and listen for
normal dial tone).
2. Press *66 (Rotary: dial 1166)
3. If the line is still busy, hang up. (Your phone checks the number for 30
minutes).
4. A callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free.
5. Pick up the handset to automatically connect the call.
6. To cancel, depress switchhook and release. Listen for a special dial tone.
7. If you've already hung up, lift handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
Press *86 (Rotary Phone: dial 1186).
8. Listen for confirmation tone of announcement and hang up.
Distinctive Ring-Call Waiting
Distinctive Ring-Call Waiting - Allows up to 12 incoming telephone
numbers to give a distinctive ring or Call Waiting tone. Your phone will ring
with a normal pattern for all other incoming calls.
How to Use:
1. Press *61 to activate and listen to instructions.
Voice Mail will only work on the Primary Number.
Follow Me Call Forwarding
Follow Me Call Forwarding - Allows you to redirect all incoming calls to
another
telephone number from any location. Note: Must be activated and deactivated from
a touch-tone phone. This feature is available on a monthly basis only.
How to Use:
1. Dial the Access Number for your area: In Kodiak dial 486-1192. Listen for
bursts of tone.
2. When you hear dial tone dial the telephone number you want to forward, plus
the PIN number, followed by #.
3. Press *72 to activate.
4. Enter the forward-to number. Press 1 to confirm.
Press 2 to change the forward-to number.
You will hear two quick tones to confirm that the forwarding has been completed.
Note:
To Cancel Call Forwarding:
- Dial the Access Number (for out of local area, dial 1+907).
- Dial the telephone number you previously forwarded, plus the PIN number.
- Listen for bursts of tone.
- Press *73.
Note:
• When a call is made to your number while your calls are being forwarded, your telephone will ring once to remind you that Call Forwarding is activated.
• You may still make calls from your telephone.
• Remember that calls forwarded to numbers outside your local calling area are
long distance. Toll charges will apply to these calls.
Intercom
Intercom - Allows you to communicate with other extensions at your home
or business.
How to Use:
1. If your line is programmed with this feature, dial your own telephone number.
2. Listen for a slow busy signal, hang up, and all extensions on the line will
ring.
3. Lift the receiver to talk.
Last Call Return
Last Call Return - Redials your last caller even if you couldn't answer
in time.
How to Use:
1. Pick up the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
2. If you were already on the phone and ignored "Call Waiting", press switchhook
and release quickly.
3. Press *69 (Rotary Phone: dial 1169) Your call will go through like a normal
call.
4. If the line is busy, hang up. You rphone will keep trying the number for up
to 30 minutes. A callback ring alerts you if line becomes free.
5. Pick up the handset to automatically connect the call.
6. To cancel press *89 (Rotary Phone: dial 1189).
Note:
1. Last Call Return does not work on 800 or 900 numbers outside the specified
service area, or if other call services such as Call Forward or Line Block have
been activated.
2. Calls coming from cellular phones or areas without Caller ID will not be
available for Last Call Return.
Per Line Block
Per Line Block - Your line can be programmed to block your name and
telephone number from being displayed on outgoing calls.
Per Line Block does not apply to calls placed to 911 or an 800 number. There
is no monthly fee for this service.
Note:
If you have line block programmed on your phone you can dial *82 to unblock the
line. You must dial *82 before each call you place to activate this feature.
There is no fee for this service.
Per Call Block
Per Call Block - Prevents your phone number from being displayed to the
person receiving your call.
How to Use:
1. Press *67, then dial the number you are calling.
2. The word Private appears on the Caller ID screen.
Note: You must dial *67 before each call you place to activate this feature.
Per Call Block does not apply to calls placed to an 800 number.
Selective Call Acceptance
Selective Call Acceptance - Accept calls from number on a special list
only.
How to Use:
1. Press *64, listen for announcement and how many numbers are stored.
2. Press 3 to turn the feature on or off as needed.
3. To add the last caller to your forward list press #01#.
4. To hear the phone numbers on your list press 1.
5. To add a number to your list press #.
6. To remove a number from your list press * and follow voice instructions.
7. To hear instructions again, dial 0
Note:
This service can work with Call Forward calls. Numbers on your list will follow
you to Selective Call Forward number. An incoming call from a telephone number
that is not on the list is routed to an announcement that the called party does
not wish to receive the call.
Selective Call Forward
Selective Call Forward - Allows you to forward up to 12 selected incoming
calls while remaining calls ring to original location.
How to Use:
1. Dial *63
2. Press 3 to turn the feature on or off as needed.
3. To add the last caller to your forward list press #01#.
4. To hear the phone numbers on your list press 1.
5. To add a number to your list press #.
6. To remove a number from your list press * and follow voice instructions.
7. To hear instructions again, dial 0
Note:
This service can work with Call Forward calls. Numbers on your list will follow
you to Selective Call Forward number.
Selective Call Reject
Selective Call Reject - Reject calls from specific numbers. When these
numbers attempt to contact you they will receive a prerecorded Call Rejection
announcement. Other calls will ring and be received normally.
How to Use:
1. Dial *60
2. Press 3 to turn the feature on or off as needed.
3. To add the last caller to your forward list press #01#.
4. To hear the phone numbers on your list press 1.
5. To add a number to your list press #.
6. To remove a number from your list press * and follow voice instructions.
7. To hear instructions again, dial 0
Note:
You will not be notified when or how many calls have been rejected.
Speed Calling
Speed Calling - A two-digit code can access frequently called numbers,
including long distance numbers.
How to Use:
1. Press 75# and wait for dial tone.
2. Select a two digit code (numbers 20-49)
3. Dial code you selected and complete telephone number (include 1 and area code
if needed), then press #.
4. To call numbers, select speed calling by dialing your two-digit cost, press
#.
5. To change an existing Speed Dialing number, follow steps above to re-program.
Three-Way Calling
Three-Way Calling - Allows you to talk to two parties at the same time.
How to Use:
1. Press the switchhook quickly to put first call on hold. You will hear three
beeps, then dial tone.
2. Dial second number.
3. To add first call, press the switchhook quickly and all three callers will be
on the line.
Note:
When receiving a busy signal or no answer with second call, you can return to
first call by pressing the switchhook quickly, taking them off hold.
Voice Mail
Voice Mail - ACS has easy-to-use, affordable, and customizable home phone messaging plans.
